How We’ve Used Wood Veneers in London

When it comes to natural wood veneers, demand in London is high, especially amongst joiners, construction specialists and interiors experts who are tasked with achieving a high end finish.

As wood veneer suppliers in London, there are numerous projects we’ve worked on alongside some of the most respected contractors in the Capital, supplying and preparing a range of wood veneers that have created spectacular finishes in a variety of settings.

One Three Eight Cheapside

The stunning 1950s building at One Three Eight Cheapside has been strikingly refurbished to create premium office space. Outside, the building’s façade is nothing short of spectacular, which is why it was so important to achieve something equally special for the interior.

The entryway crafted courtesy of the expertise of The Joinery Company really did hit the mark, and was brought to life by the perfectly matched veneer panelling courtesy of our London wood veneering specialists.

International Dispute Resolution Centre

The International Dispute Resolution Centre is a prestigious building in the heart of London. We worked alongside K&D Joinery as they undertook a fit-out of the arbitrator’s room. Our role was to supply and prepare veneered doors, frames and skirting, together with cabinets, windows and acoustic wall panels.

The wood veneers of choice for this London property were the fittingly elegant quarter cut oak and American white oak for the cabinetry and American walnut veneers for the doors. We fully prepared the doors and polished them, then fitted ironmongery, handles and locks and had them ready for fitting.

Hoxton Press Private Apartments

KWB London are premium joinery specialists with a reputation for crafting bespoke kitchens, furniture and fitted interiors. We worked alongside them as they crafted the interiors for 198 high end private apartments for Hoxton Press.

Our role as London wood veneer suppliers encompassed supplying and preparing a selection of veneered wardrobe doors and bathroom panels for each apartment. American quarter cut oak was the timber of choice. This is a sophisticated looking, fine-grained veneer noted for its elegant finish. It was essential that the wardrobe doors were perfectly matched for streamlined consistency. Some were two-door, some three, some four, some six. The bathroom panels were used to create built-in vanity units and added a naturally beautiful effect to an ultra-contemporary bathroom space.

Christ Church Kensington

Working with respected construction and joinery experts Bryen & Langley Ltd of Eltham, South East London, we were proud to be involved in a very special project involving the restoration of a beautiful Gothic Revival church in the heart of West London.

Christ Church Kensington had been undergoing a major restoration and regeneration project incorporating a new roof and restoration of the stonework, the church organ and the glorious stained glass window.

Another aspect of the restoration in which we were involved was the extensive replacement of internal wood panelling and doorways, including the panelling around the West End Balcony, allowing the original design by Royal Gold Medal award winning English architect Benjamin Ferrey to be lovingly recreated.

Read Veneers were contracted as a trusted wood veneer supplier to Bryen and Langley to craft the veneered panels for the interior church walls and West End Balcony, as well as a number of matching bespoke veneered doors.

Total Gas & Power, London Docklands

Total Gas & Power Ltd is situated in the heart of London’s Docklands, close to Canary Wharf. When the offices were refurbished, part of the work called for a selection of bespoke veneered fire doors. The doors were crafted by a commercial interiors specialist who contracted us as wood veneer suppliers in London to create a striking finish.

The fire doors were passed to us for veneering, with alder the timber species of choice. We used a figured sequence of veneer cuts to ensure the grain of the wood was matched to perfection from door to door. We were responsible for ensuring the matching was perfect so that from whatever angle the doors were viewed, the grain would flow beautifully.

O2 London

We were commissioned to produce a set of veneer panels and doors for one of the VIP areas at the well-known O2 entertainment venue in London.

American black walnut was chosen for the veneered panels, and we worked from designer’s drawings to create a high spec, striking finish using crown cut veneers, admired for their eye-catching natural patterns. Meticulous attention to detail was called for to ensure the matching of each of the veneered panels so that everything flowed perfectly.
