A Helping Hand for This Year’s Poppy Appeal

Earlier in the year we reported how Read Veneers had paired up with the Grays based Needles and Chat knitting group to help raise money for children via a local radio Easter appeal.

We are incredibly proud to relay that we have once again teamed up with the group, this time to help raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Every year Needles and Chat get very busy knitting charming woollen poppies which are displayed in various locations around the county and sold to raise money for the Appeal. This year the group really went to town with their knitting needles, creating an entire poppy wreath made from a whopping 200 poppies!

As soon as we saw it here at Read Veneers we couldn’t resist buying it. All proceeds have gone towards the Poppy Appeal and the wreath is set to be displayed at Grays Memorial and then Rainham Memorial as part of the Remembrance Sunday celebrations.

If you’d like to buy your own knitted poppy and help the Poppy Appeal you are welcome to contact us and we’ll put you directly in touch with Needles and Chat. The Appeal raises funds for a range of uses, from supporting veterans and their families in debt and emergency situations to providing breaks for service families.

Thank you in advance for your support of this wonderful cause.
